Classic tetris-game with four different game modes. You can play against other players or try co-operative game with your friend! Move a falling brick to a right position before it touches the ground. The game is over once the brick pile hits the top.
If you are a registered user of Playray and have logged in with your mickname, you can start playing right away.
In case you haven't registered yet, the game will assign you a random visitor nickname. A wavy line (~) will appear automatically before your name in order to inform other players that you are not a registered player. By this we make sure that your nickname won't be confused with those of registered users.
You can choose from three different game modes: Single player game, team game with a friend, or two-player game against another player. Click the corresponding button to enter the lobby of the game mode you have chosen.
In the space where you select a lobby, you also can adjust the game settings: the style of the graphics, control keys, and the direction to which the block turns. You don't necessarily have to change anything, and especially the turning direction of the block option is for advanced players only.
Single player game lobby:
You can choose from two game mode options: normal game or marathon game. The marathon game is otherwise the same as the normal game, but the game gets more difficult much more slowly than a normal game. For this reason, the marathon game can last quite long and is targeted at patient, record-chasing players only.
Team game lobby:
In the team game lobby, you can chat with other players who are in the same lobby and ask a person of your choice to a game. If the person asked accepts your request, the game will start. Similarly, if another player asks you to play, you will get a notification of this and can choose to either accept or refuse the request.
Contest between two lobby
Starting a contest between two works in the same way as starting a team game. The challenging player has, however, the possibility to adjust two features of the game before challenging:
The same blocks for both players: If this has been set to "yes", both players will receive exactly the same blocks during the game. This being so, the loser can't blame bad blocks for his/her bad performance.
The number of rows that have to be removed at a time before the rows are moved to the opponent's field: Full rows made during a contest between two are moved to the opponent's game field if a player can remove at least as many rows at a time as is defined in this setting. In case the setting is "1", all full rows will always be moved to the opponent's game field. This kind of game, of course, ends soon, because rows never disappear. So it is good for a quick game.
The game is played in the same way as the classic game Tetris. A block starts to fall from the top of the game area. The block can be moved to right and left and be turned around. The block falls down slowly by itself, and can also be dropped down by the player. Once a block has reached the bottom, all full rows formed in the game area disappear and the rows above them will fall towards the bottom of the game area. After this, a new block starts to fall down from the top of the screen. The game is over as soon as the pile of blocks extends outside the game area.
The next block to be falling down is always shown on the right side of the game area.
Counting points:
Each block gives one point provided that the game doesn't end because
of this block. Removed rows bring points depending on the number of rows
removed by one block at a time:
1 row: 10 points
2 rows: 30 points
3 rows: 60 points
4 rows: 100 points
Single player game:
The goal of the single player game is to collect as many points as possible. The game becomes more difficult (the blocks begin to fall more quickly) at one-minute intervals (in the marathon game at 10-minute intervals). This being so, quick playing brings more points, but hurrying can bring its own punishment, too.
Team game:
In the team game, your game area is on the left side of the screen and your game partner's situation is shown on the right side. Between the two game areas, the joint situation is shown, in which both your and your game partner's block piles are shown against each other. The game ends when the block piles collide in a joint situation. It is worth trying to keep the block piles as low as possible.
Contest between two:
In the contest between two, players play against each other. Your own game area is again displayed on the left and your opponent's game situation is shown on the right. The player whose game ends first, loses. When one of the players can remove a certain number of rows at a time, the rows will be moved to the opponent's game field. The number of rows to be removed at a time depends on the settings the challenging player selected in the lobby.
